Wedding Night Lingerie: Things to Look Out For

Choosing your wedding night lingerie could be a bit confusing; this is because you are trying to please two people at once. Generally, lingerie should first be about you, then the man in your life. But when it comes to the wedding night lingerie, a new bride can’t help placing the focus on her new husband and that’s not a bad thing. The look in his eyes when you peel the layers to reveal the lingerie… it’s worth that focus.

Nevertheless, your wedding night lingerie needs to be what you feel comfortable and confident wearing because there is very little that is appealing about lack of confidence because you are uncomfortable. So how do you make your new husband’s eyes smoke over at the sight of you in that lingerie without compromising on comfort?

Take your man’s taste into consideration. Some men are turned on by the illusion of chasteness. If your man is one of those, it would be counterproductive to get something that is so obviously risqué.

Think Comfort. Since you are the one who would be wearing the lingerie, it is important that you pick something that you do not feel self conscious wearing like a nice chemise or camisole. This does not mean that you can’t step out of your comfort zone for your man, but if you are going to do that, then practice wearing the lingerie days before the wedding until you get comfortable in it.

Feel Comfortable. This is not about being self conscious but more about wearing something that feels soft and comfortable against your skin. Don’t pick lingerie that is uncomfortably tight. You also need to consider if you are going to wear the lingerie under your wedding gown. This has it’s issues because the wedding could last for several hours and your lingerie might then become sweaty and smelling unless of course you are using an organic fabric like natural bamboo. In which case, you can wear the lingerie under your wedding gown and still look and smell fabulous on the wedding night.

Schedule time for lingerie shopping and try before buying. When planning a wedding it is almost like there are a million things to do at once and lingerie buying is often procrastinated until it gets pushed to the back burners. Therefore it is important to actually schedule time to buy your wedding night lingerie. If you are going to a physical shop, make sure you try out the lingerie first before buying. When buying online however, this could be a bit tricky. The answer to that would be to purchase handmade lingerie which can be adjusted to fit you.

Take time to carefully pick your wedding night lingerie because what is a wedding night without lingerie?
